1) Network analysis of instrumental activities of daily living in Alzheimer's disease Lead Investigator: Toni Saari Institution : University of Eastern Finland E-Mail : toni.saari@uef.fi Proposal ID : 1245 Proposal Description: 1) The goal is to take a closer look at specific IADLs, and how they interact with one another in Alzheimer's disease. 2) Network methodology allows to examine whether impairment in some particular IADLs is central for more wide-spread IADL decline. Current literature on relative importance of specific IADLs is mostly based on means and frequencies, not relationships between these IADLs per se. Our suggested approach complements using IADL measure total scores, and the current trends of combining the most pertinent cognitive-functional variables for e.g. clinical trials. Interchangeability of specific IADLs in computing total scores may be challenged.
